About Shannon
Helping people navigate the world differently with a reduction of stress and pain is amazing and makes my job so rewarding!
From Dance to Acupuncture
In the mid 90s I had a severe dance injury that required long term healing. I decided to try Acupuncture to reduce my pain post surgery and was amazed at the results. That injury took me out of dance as a livelihood, but led me to the medicine I now practice. At the time, I was devastated that my dance career had changed but now I am so grateful that my life path brought me to a calling that brings me such joy daily!
Emotional well being, increased energy, a thriving immune system, and reduction of pain.
These are some of the positive changes I witness through the application of acupuncture, lifestyle coaching, herbal medicine and bodywork to brilliantly effect balance in the mind and body. Having practiced for over 20 years, I work with a diverse range of people and issues and find that true healing comes from within. My role is to help support you or your child on your path towards health.
I love working with children, including those with special needs.
Headaches, stomachaches, anxiety, stress, body pain, hormonal imbalances, symptoms from autoimmune diseases, and side effects from prescription drugs are just some of the areas I have helped treat. It is so rewarding to see children and teens become stronger as they move towards wellness.
When I am not treating patients I am spending time with my family. I have two teenage boys who help me keep it real everyday! My younger son has down syndrome and the journey of discovery with him has been profound. Learning patience, letting go of fear and judgment of myself and others and accepting what is in this moment has been life changing.
I stay balanced in my own life by having a good chat with my friends, going on a walk in the woods or the park, taking a yoga class, watching a show on tv that brings perspective and laughter, and meditation—a must for me!
I look forward to working with you,
Shannon
